The Allahabad High Court of the Uttar Pradesh State of India announced the Ayodhya Verdict on
Fearing the consequences of the verdict the Central and State governments took extreme precautions at all levels to quell the expected agitations.
Hundreds of thousands of security personnel were kept at important hot spots of the cities and other regional areas.
Ayodhya was protected by more than 1.6 lakh police force.
The Home Minister and the Prime minister appealed to the people of India to accept the court verdict and if anyone is not happy with it may appeal to the Supreme Court.
The day of judgment came and the verdict was made known to the public at about on 30 Sept.
The media were around the Allahabad High Court to get the news first to flash the news to the whole world.
The verdict was very balanced and the disputed 2.77 acres land was divided into three parts.
The Court verdict said the following:
“The area beneath the central dome of the erstwhile Masjid should be allotted to Hindus because of their faith that Lord Ram’s birth place was there.
The areas covered by the Ram Chabutara and Sita Rasoi should be allotted to the Nirmohi Akhara.
The remaining area of the disputed site should be divided, two-thirds to the two Hindu plaintiffs and one-third to the Muslim plaintiff by metes and bounds.
After the verdict, there was no sign of agitation anywhere in the country although each party expressed their viewpoints.
Some were satisfied and others were not fully satisfied.
Some said they want to go to the supreme Courts for another judgment.
But no untoward incident took place anywhere in the country.
Everyone including the political parties and above all the Home Minister Mr. P. Chidambaram was very happy.
The tension came down after the High Court verdict came out.
One of the arguments advanced against the verdict was valid according to me.
What is that?
The judgment has not taken into account the vandalism of 6 December 1992 .
The demolition of the Babri Masjid and those who were responsible for it were not identified and punished.
In fact, the Supreme Court in its judgment of 1994 said: “within a short time, the entire structure was demolished and razed to the ground.
Indeed, it was an act of ‘national shame.’
What was demolished was not merely an ancient structure, but the faith of the minorities in the sense of justice and fairplay of majority.
It shook their faith in the rule of law and constitutional processes.
A 500-year-old structure which was defenseless and whose safety was a sacred trust in the hands of the State government was demolished.”
At the same time the white paper issued by the government on the demolition said:
“The demolition of the Ram Janma Bhoomi – Babri Masjid structure at Ayodhya on 6 December 1992 was a most reprehensible act.
The perpetrators of this deed struck not only against a place of worship, but also at the principles of secularism, democracy and the rule of law enshrined in our constitution.
In a move as sudden as it was shameful, a few thousand people managed to outrage the sentiments of millions of Indians of all communities who have reacted to this incident with anguish and dismay.”
These statements were made to satisfy the mass after a large number of innocent human beings were killed in Mumbai immediately after the demolition.
Who is responsible for it?
Is it the emotion which is important for constructing a temple or mosque in a particular place or people’s intelligence is important to avoid all untoward activities and safeguard the fellow human beings to live peacefully together?
What I feel is the people are used as the puppets to satisfy the ego of the political parties.
Why do we pray God?
Millions of people have faith in God but they do not have a give and take policy as taught in all religions.
It looks really ridiculous to anyone who has little bit of understanding and thinking.
I do not know when our people will realize and understand the political and religious leaders who expoit them for their benefit and better life.
The dying people are always the innocent and poor people.
I realize that and I hope you too.
