ORDER OR DISORDER

‘Order,’ ‘Order.’ The judge shouts and brings the disordered court to order to conduct the proceedings.
I have seen this scene in many Indian cinemas.
We all see in most of the court scenes.
I do not know how it happens actually in a court because I have not entered a court so far in my life time.
The word ‘order’ has nearly fifteen different meanings when I looked in a dictionary.
It is a word used very often by people at different occasions.
I like the word ‘order’ because ‘order’ only can make us to live properly.
Arranging things or people in relation to another is order.
Even in science our knowledge is arranged in order.
In a disordered condition everything would be in confusion and chaos.
If we arrange people or things in an order based on size, merit or importance, it would be easier to search back or refer again.
Plants and animals are of various kinds, size and importance.
So they were classified in a particular manner by some our biologists for easy understanding.
The classification runs as phylum, family, genus and species taking certain characters into consideration.
In other words, it is said that the plants and animals are ordered in a particular manner to help us to understand them better.
Children are mostly disorderly, they do not keep things in an order; so the parents and teachers teach and coach them to keep things like books, writing tools, and play things in order.
Some children learn easily from them and start following whereas others do not care about the advantages of their teachings.
Even the adults differ in keeping things in order.
Neatly arranged office table, files, dressing table, dining table, kitchen, and drawing room will always look neat and beautiful.
Things can be easily located in such an environment.
On the other hand, some like disorder; they do not care to arrange their things at home or office.
Different kinds of people behave differently as far as order is concerned.
Mostly women are more orderly than men.
I do not know how far it is true; it’s only my observation.
‘Keep things in order’ is the advice we all hear from our elders.
The word ‘order’ has another meaning too…command.
The court order, the orders are also given by police and military officers.
One has to obey those commands / orders because they have some element of compulsion and pressure.
Orders are passed to follow in order to keep discipline among people.
Strict law and order are followed in defense service all over the world.
In a restaurant we order for drinks and food to the waiter and wait for them – sometimes hours together.
Some of us may cancel the order if it takes too much time.
In post office we can buy ‘postal order’ to send to someone who can get the money as indicated in the ‘postal order’ at the other end.
Thus we order the post office to pay an amount whoever produces the postal order.
Sometimes our telephone becomes out of order when it fails to work properly.
So, ‘out of order’ means a machine fails to work.
When we go to buy ready-made-costumes such as shoes, pants, shirts, blouse, skirts etc. we may not find suitable ones, so we ask for ‘made-to-order’ costumes.
‘Made-to-order’ is a phrase commonly used one in fashion world for special requirements.
The military officer’s attendant is called ‘orderly’ who carries messages in between officers and offices.
It is a wonderful word used at different occasions with different meanings.
We prefer order in a country, not disorder.
Some of the countries maintain the order and the life of people is peaceful whereas in countries like Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, there is no order so there is not peace.
People are killed in violence everywhere and every time leaving the injured to suffer for ever.
Therefore law and order are of paramount importance for any country to follow, otherwise confusion and chaos prevail to hamper the development and happiness of the common people.
